Semi-permanent Eyebrow Tattooing
Want eyebrows that last 1-3 years without having to apply them daily? Cosmetic tattooing known as semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo is a modern technique used to achieve your desired eyebrow appearance. Pigment is deposited into the epidermis with a fine tool or pen like machine creating crisp hair strokes, fully shaded brows or combination (feathering and shading). Semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing can fill in sparse brows or create an entire brow. We thrive on you having a natural appearance matching your eyebrow hair colour that compliment skin tones.
What is the difference between microblading, ombre and combination brows?
Microblading is done with a fine hand tool creating each hair stroke that resembles an individual hair and has a natural appearance. For those who have oily skin, large pores or have tenancies to bleed, microblading is generally not the right path to take. Ideal for dry combination skin.
Ombre technique is created with a machine and looks similar to what your brows look like filled in with make-up. This looks soft in the front fading to a more saturated look at the tail. This style is great for oily skin and actually last longer than microblading! Also used for tattoo cover-ups and can range from soft to dark consistency as well.
Combination brows are amazing and what I have done to my brows! This is a combination of microblading (feathering) and ombre (shading). Microblading strokes can be seen mostly front to mid brow. Shading is then added from the tail to mid brow to complete a excellent blended look. Combination brows are less harmful to the skin and last up to 3 years.
How long does procedure take?
Your procedure will take between 1-2.5 hours. This includes consultation, stenciling, applying numbing cream and procedure.
Do I bring anything to my appointment?
If you fill in your eyebrows currently and use a specific shade, please bring your pencil in with you to your appointment. If you wish to have brows shaped prior please feel free to do so. If you prefer to wax or thread please allow 2 days for the swelling to go down before your appointment.
Do you use disposable tools and cartridges?
Absolutely! Each tool is manufacture packaged and opened new per each use. We do not reuse tools. After each usage they are disposed correctly. It is extremely important to provide a SAFE and clean work space. I have worked as a healthcare professional for 11 years and following sanitary protocols is a must. We dispose all used items, sanitize bed, lamp, counters and re-apply new gloves when ever in doubt of contamination.
Am I a candidate?
If you have Fitzpatrick Skin type 1-2 (i.e., you are a redhead, have thin, translucent skin with light eyes), your skin is very likely to be hypersensitive and your skin will not be able to tolerate microblading well. The same applies if you just have generally very thin skin - it will bleed easily and not retain colour well. If you tend to have more oily skin as well, generally the pigment does not hold the greatest but still possible to have a good outcome. However, powder ombré or combination brows are an excellent option.
Previous eyebrow tattoo's - New clients who previously have had an eyebrow tattooing may want to change or fix what they have had done. In these situations we may/may not need to do a colour correction depending on the amount of ink remaining. Some clients are able to repeat microblading or are recommended to convert to ombré or combination brows. Ombré or combination brows allow us to get overall better coverage and camouflage previous work so previous work is not seen through onto your beautiful new brows!. For more serious cases clients may have to consider removal prior to our procedure. We ask that you disclose this information prior to booking to ensure we can provide you with great results!
Please read the following to ensure you are fit for the procedure. We do not preform on the following:
- Women who are pregnant or nursing
- History of keloids (enlarged raised scar)
- Bloodborne diseases (HIV, Hepatitis B & C)
- Accutane in the past 1 year
We are unable to perform microblading on people who are currently going through chemotherapy. However, once you have been off for one year we would happily have you as a client and give you brows!
